Am I competing with Stretch XL Freight?
No — we're a broker (shipper ↔ carrier), you're a dispatcher (carrier ↔ broker). Different tiers of the value chain. Your carriers benefit from more freight options, and you benefit from a recurring revenue stream you didn't have before.
Do I need any special license or paperwork?
No. Dispatchers don't need FMCSA authority (that's for brokers). You're acting as an agent of your carrier — you find loads for them on our platform (or elsewhere), and Stretch XL Freight is the licensed broker of record on every SXLF load booked. You never contract directly with shippers, hold shipper contracts, or collect broker fees from shippers.
How does the load booking flow work?
You browse SXLF's loadboard, find a match for your carrier, we broker the load. SXLF handles shipper-side paperwork, insurance verification, and payment. Your dispatcher fee is between you and your carrier as usual — SXLF doesn't take a cut of your dispatcher fee, and you don't take a cut of our brokerage margin. Everyone wins where they should.
What if I have a shipper I could bring you?
Your dispatcher portal includes a shipper referral link — send it to any shipper you know. When they post their first load via that link, they're auto-tagged to you. You earn 20% of the gross margin on every load they ever ship through SXLF, paid monthly. Attribution is permanent — once they're your shipper, they're your shipper. High-volume shippers may qualify for a negotiated rate — talk to us. You're a sales rep, not a broker, so no FMCSA authority needed.
Can I post my own shipper loads through your portal?
Not through the dispatcher tools — that would require FMCSA broker authority. If you have a shipper who wants to move freight, share your shipper referral link and we'll broker every load they post. You'd still earn bounty for any of your carriers who book those loads too — double-dip legally.
Do you broker hazmat freight?
Not right now. Stretch XL Freight holds a general-property broker license (MC #01732149), not the hazmat endorsement. If your shipper needs hazardous-materials transport, refer them to a hazmat-certified broker like Landstar, Schneider, or C.H. Robinson. We'll re-quote as soon as we add the endorsement — non-hazmat freight is our full lane.
How do I know I'm actually getting credit?
Every carrier who signs up via your link gets stamped with your referral code in our CRM. On the 1st of every month we send you a payout statement listing every active carrier + the total owed. Transparent.
What happens if a carrier cancels?
You stop earning on that carrier at their next billing cycle. No clawback. If they come back and re-subscribe, you start earning again. Your bounty flexes with their tier.
Can I refer myself if I run a truck too?
Yes — many dispatchers also own a truck. You can sign up as both a dispatcher AND a carrier on Stretch XL. Two separate accounts, two separate benefits.
Do you require exclusivity?
No. Refer to whoever you want. We think our platform pays best, but the choice is yours.
Legal note: Dispatchers are not brokers under FMCSA regulations, do not hold FMCSA broker authority, and do not have binding authority to contract with shippers on Stretch XL Freight's behalf. All shipper agreements are between the shipper and Stretch XL Freight LLC directly (USDOT #4409725 · MC #01732149). Referral fees are compensation for lead generation only.
